Singham Again Box Office: Film emerges as Ajay Devgn’s highest opener, overtakes Singham Returns by a margin

Rohit Shetty’s Singham Again starring Ajay Devgn, Ranveer Singh, Akshay Kumar, Deepika Padukone and more stars released on Friday, November 1 and is being loved by the masses. In fact, the cop drama has made some box office records with its opening day collection. While the ensemble cast cop drama – the fifth film in Shetty’s much-loved cop universe, emerged as the highest-grossing Diwali opener with its worldwide collection, the film has also emerged as Ajay Devgn’s highest opener ever. As per reports, Rohit Shetty’s latest cop drama earned an impressive Day 1 collection of Rs. 43.70 crore, despite clashing at the box office with Kartik Aaryan’s Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3. This impressive collection has resulted in Singham Again becoming the biggest opener Ajay Devgn has had in his over 3-decade-long career. The film has earned this title by defeating Devgn’s last cop drama – Singham Returns. Here’s a look at his 5 biggest openers to date:

Singham Again – Rs. 43.70 crores

Singham Returns – Rs 32.09 crore

Golmaal Again  – Rs 30.14 crore

Total Dhamaal – Rs 16.50 crore

Drishyam 2 – Rs. 15.38 crore

Interestingly, out of these five, the top three highest openers of Ajay have all been directed by Rohit Shetty movies. This speaks volumes about the successful pair the actor and director share.
